Will my funeral director allow me to buy the coffin independently?
You are not duty-bound to purchase a coffin from your chosen funeral director. It is advisable to let them know your intentions. Funeral directors are growing more used to people purchasing a coffin independently. If you prefer the Funeral Director can contact us directly with your requirements.
Are different size coffins available?
Our coffins are available in a range of standard sizes, from 5’2″ to a large coffin size of up to 6’4″. If you require a size that isn’t on our website, please contact us directly and we can discuss what larger options are available.
How do I know what size coffin to order?
Your Funeral Director can easily advise you on the size of coffin required, or we can assist you if you have the length, shoulder width and the height from the floor to the tip of the nose, or the feet of the deceased (whichever is the highest of the two). If ordering direct please allow an additional 2 inches to each measurement taken.
How much does a coffin cost?
Our prices are displayed within the order section of our website next to the image of the coffin. This includes standard delivery to most areas within the mainland UK. Some areas of Northern Scotland may have to pay a little more for delivery.
When is it best to place my order?
We would recommend ordering the coffin as soon as possible. We like to grant enough time to arrange delivery. Our advice would be to order the coffin at least 5 working days before the funeral date.
Where can the coffin be delivered to?
You can have the coffin delivered either to a Funeral Director or private address.
Is there VAT on the coffin price?
All prices are inclusive of VAT.
How do I order the coffin?
You can order via our online shop, alternatively you can complete the ‘Contact Us’ form via our contact us page, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 0161 960 0969 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
How do I pay for the coffin?
You can pay by credit or debit card via our online shop. Or by bank transfer from the invoice sent after phone or email order.
Do I need a nameplate?
All crematoriums and cemeteries require a nameplate. The text needs to have the legal name of the person that has died. As well as age or birth and death date. Other personal text can be added e.g “Rest in Peace”. On specific coffins we offer an engraving service.
Is the coffin lined?
A Crem film liner is fitted as standard and is predominantly used for cremations and burials.

My little boy loved Spider Man, can I have a Spider Man themed coffin?
We would have to request copyright approval to the relevant organisation or authority before we can use a character image. Most organisations are very compassionate to our requests, but if permission isn’t forthcoming for any reason, then we will work with you to come up with a suitable alternative.
My little girl was a real football fan, I’d love to have her favourite club’s logo and colours on her coffin as a special send-off. Is that possible?

What is the difference between a coffin and a casket?
The difference is basically the shape. Coffins are usually tapered at the head and foot and are wide at the shoulders. Caskets are rectangular in shape.

We at Bespoke coffins have our own manufacturing workshop, so all our coffins are made to order at our manufacturing facility in Manchester, UK.
